Discover how slaves escaping the South utilized the stars to guide them North, and learn to navigate the night sky yourself. Consider visiting the Lake Erie marshes on Saturday to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day and spend Sunday morning with Metropark Naturalists exploring the unique habitats within the Oak Openings Region. Spring migration should keep the capture nets bustling with songbirds, including some of the very colorful warblers. Pre-registration is a must for this program, which will be strictly limited to 12 photographers.
