Bend View's name describes its greatest attribute – an unequaled view of a 90-degree bend in the Maumee River. The Waterville park is only accessible by hiking 2.2 miles from Farnsworth on the Towpath Trail, but it is worth the walk for what is often described as the best view along the State Scenic River.

Towpath Trail

With the river on one side and the former Miami and Erie Canal on the other, the Towpath Trail stretches 8.3 miles from the boat launch at Farnsworth to the Providence Dam in Grand Rapids. The trail, once used by mules to tow canal boats, is an excellent place to see migrating songbirds, waterfowl and wading birds.
